02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Pentland Brass Band is a friendly, inclusive community band, welcoming players of all ages and abilities. We rehearse weekly, and serve our local community by giving public performances at community events. We welcome enquiries from event organisers, church leaders, community groups, care homes etc. Our junior band also meets weekly for rehearsals. It offers free tuition to musicians age 8+ and we also have instruments to lend for free. Our income comes from donations, adult membership subscriptions and occasional grant funding. We are grateful to the community of Caithness for supporting our brass band with such enthusiasm. Constitutional objectives
To advance the education of the public in Caithness and North Sutherland in the art of the Brass Band by the presentation of public performances and other activities. To promote teaching, training, and instruction in this type of music particularly to young people.
