Constitutional objectives

(a) The company’s objects are: To relieve the suffering and distress and generally promote the welfare of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, or other disadvantage by: (i) Empowering people to have their voice heard and rights protected (ii) Supporting people to make informed choices and to be fully involved in decisions that impact on them, their family and their carers (iii) Providing an independent advocacy service (iv) Promoting and encouraging the training, awareness and understanding of people in the role of advocacy (v) Promoting the rights, freedom and dignity of vulnerable people, supporting people to have their say and defending disadvantaged people from abuse and exploitation (b) The company’s objects are restricted to those set out in article 3(a) (but subject to article 3(c)). (c) The company may (subject to first obtaining the consent of OSCR) add to, remove or alter the statement of the company’s objects in article 3. on any occasion when it does so, it must give notice to the registrar of companies and the amendment will not be effective until that notice is registered on the register of companies.
