02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To provide a warm welcoming gathering place for the local community. We provide a warm space for local groups to use. We liaise with local people to see what they would like the hall to provide. Working alongside the parent council from the local school to see how we can support them. Providing a friendly chat with the neighbours and supporting where we can.

Constitutional objectives

To promote the benefit o f the inhabitants of Boddam and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, puli tical, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutury authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved. In furtherance thereof by not otherwise shall seek. b. To maintain, manage and administer the operation of the Buddam Public Hall. c. To acquire, lease, purchase or otherwise make use of such other premises as the committee may consider appropriate in the furtherance of its objects. d. To lease, purchase or otherwise acquire such equipment, stationery, assets or other property as may be necessary to fulfil its objects. e. To provide a community focus for the residents of Boddarn and to provide and encourage the use of the hall premises for educational and community purposes. f. Toliase withAberdeenshreCounci1,BoddamDistrictCommunityCouncil andallother Community groups in the locality. g. To raise funds as the committee may deem appropriate to ensure the continued availability of the hall for the use by the community on a low-cost basis. I h. To be a non-party political and non- sectarian in achieving the objects of the trust. i. To undertake such other activities as may be ancillary to and not inconsistent with the foregoing objects.
