02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To provide opportunities for all ages and backgrounds to take part in sailing, rowing and power boating, to develop skills and enjoy healthy recreation. Provision of equipment, boats, facilities, running of training courses and sessions afloat and ashore.

Constitutional objectives

to promote community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities for sailing and related water sport activities. In furtherance of this objective, the organisation shall seek: 1. to encourage, in particular, the involvement and development of young people 2. to stimulate and promote participants' motivation, aspirations and levels of achievement 3. to develop knowledge of seamanship and practical skills relating to the safe participation in water sports 4. to seek to develop participants' self-confidence, self esteem and ability to take on organisational roles in furtherance of these objectives
