02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Founded in 2002, our mission focuses on providing immediate relief and practical, holistic support to those experiencing hardship in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas. We are driven by our vision of creating a community where compassion eliminates poverty, guided by three fundamental values that shape everything we do: Compassion, Dignity and Community. Through these principles, we continue to build bridges of support and kindness throughout our region. Leveraging our proven track record and established presence in the community, our purpose is to be the go-to charity for anyone facing hardship, poverty or societal exclusion. We aim to reach as many people as need support across the region, being the first point of contact during challenging life circumstances. We purposely drive visibility of our services around homelessness and provision of essential household items such as furniture and food.
