02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The park was created in 2004 on a local waste site with the sole purpose of regenerating the area, it was to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare, for recreation and other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of the inhabitants of the Isle of Lewis and in particular those who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances. It was created for the advancement of health, the advancement of citizenship or community development, the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended and the advancement of environmental protection or improvement.
