02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community in Wick and in particular to establish a permanent memorial to the Second World War Air Raid Victims Wick and to promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the above purposes and to that end to bring together council representatives of voluntary organisations and statutory authorities. Also to educate the local schoolchildren on the events that happened in Wick in 1940 by inviting them to the garden and our Chairman who had 4 family members killed or injured gives a talk on the events of that day. We are also fortunate that we have a Local Football Club who volunteer to help with the general tidy up maintenance of our garden.
