02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Provide an independent one to one advocacy service for adults over the age of 16 in East Dunbartonshire giving priority to people living with mental health, dementia, learning & physical disabilities, acquired brain injury and substance misuse.

Constitutional objectives
To relieve the suffering and distress and generally promote the welfare of children, physically disabled persons, those with learning difficulticulties and those affected by mental ill-health and older people by: (a) providing an advocacy, information and other forms of support for such persons. (b) promoting and encouraging the training and education of people so that they may develop skills to help the aforementioned persons c) promoting the understanding and awareness of the rights of the aforementioned individuals, their families and their carers. and d) encouraging such persons to involve themselves in all aspects of society and, in particular, in those decisions affecting themselves their families and their carers, through co-operation with the authorities and other agencies.
