02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Glasgow Eagles Sports Club exists to improve the physical health, mental wellbeing and social inclusion of people with disabilities, additional support needs and mental health challenges by providing safe, accessible and inclusive sporting opportunities. We remove barriers to participation by offering low-cost, adapted activities led by experienced volunteers in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment. Our sessions include sports such as BOCCIA, table tennis and basketball, enabling participants to improve their fitness, confidence and independence while developing friendships and reducing social isolation. We also support unpaid carers by encouraging them to take part alongside those they care for, helping strengthen relationships and improve wellbeing. Through partnership working and referrals from local organisations, we ensure our activities reach those who benefit most.
