What the charity exists to do
Commotion provides facilities for women to enjoy recreation in learning and performing in a women only drumming group. This includes the chance to foster links with other women's drumming groups, provide performances for community events, offer drumming workshops for women and to improve access to drumming as a recreational activity for women, primarily in the Edinburgh area.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation’s purposes are to provide facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation in training and performing with a samba drumming group in the interest of social welfare with the object of improving the conditions of life of women in the Edinburgh area and in furtherance of to: (a) Improve access to samba drumming as a recreational activity for women. (b) Enable women to enjoy the social, emotional and wellbeing benefits associated with group drumming. (c) Provide performances for community and professional events, primarily in and around the Edinburgh area.
