02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To enable the continued existence of a brass band in the town set up 40 years ago. We train new members, provide musical accompaniment for a variety of local events, enter brass band competitions, promote and organise concerts in the town. Band members pay monthly subs and we raise other funds from public donations, fund raising activities and grants from a variety of awarding bodies. Whilst we have no upper age limit the majority of our players are school age children to whom we provide instruments and tuition.
