02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Community House operates a range of services to meet the needs of the local community for children, young people and adults. The activities we provide are after school sessions, holiday sessions, Helping Hands sessions for adults with additional support needs, family outreach support and baby steps, which is support to expectant mothers and to new parents with children up the age of 1. We work in partnership with Social security Scotland offering financial support and work with other third sector organisations to offer the the right support to children, young people and adults. We offer support to access provisions of essential hygiene items for children and families and baby goods as part of our baby steps service. We offer support to families in times of crisis with responsive emergency support, Christmas support and support to access all items families need in times of financial difficulties through all of our services.
