02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Chansons is a chamber choir of up to 40 singers with our music director in Perth, Scotland. We enjoy the challenge of learning, singing and performing choral music to a high standard. Our repertoire is very varied from across several centuries and in many languages, - traditional, modern, sacred or secular. We meet for a minimum of 30 rehearsals each year and usually perform at least 3 choral concerts in and around Perth in addition to other events and functions (eg weddings, charity or community events, choral visits to and from our twin city Aschaffenburg, Germany) . Membership is by audition, and a balance of voices is maintained across the 4 main voice parts - soprano, alto, tenor and bass.
