The charity supports the activities of its trading subsidiary, Dunrobin Castle Limited. It does this by ensuring the maintenance and preservation of the historic building and grounds. The principal activity of the trading subsidiary is the opening of Dunrobin Castle and gardens to the public.

Constitutional objectives
1) To promote the permanent preservation for the benefit of the nation of lands, tenements, buildings and chattels of beauty or historic interest in particular but not limited to Dunrobin Castle, Golspie, Sutherland KW10 I 6SF. 2) To advance the historical architectural and aesthetic education of the public in particular (but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) by affording all possible opportunities for the viewing and appreciation of such properties as aforesaid at reasonable times throughout the year.
