02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The objective of the Project, as set down in the Trust Deed, is to advance the Christian religion among the young people of the Dunbar area. We aim to achieve this objective by: • Responding to identified needs of young people in the local schools and community by demonstrating Christian love and compassion in practical ways and offering pastoral support where needed, and • Enabling young people to explore the good news of the Christian faith, supporting them in the development of their personal beliefs, nurturing the faith of young Christians, and encouraging acquisition of positive life skills.

Constitutional objectives

The purpose of the Project shall be to advance the Christian Religion among the young people of the Dunbar area: (a) To enable the young people of the Dunbar area to explore Christianity and its relevance to their lives and the community. (b) To host such groups and events as are necessary, in conjunction with local churches and other organisations, where appropriate, to do all things as will properly attain the above stated purpose. and (c) To employ such person or persons and to recruit such volunteers as are required to facilitate the hosting of groups, events or activities undertaken in pursuit of the above stated purpose.
