What the charity exists to do
To manage Dunain Community Woodland as a vibrant and welcoming natural space that continues to enrich the lives of our local community through participation in conservation, provision of recreation opportunities, and protecting and managing open access to the hill land — strengthening people’s connection with nature for generations to come.

Constitutional objectives
The aims of the organisation are: 4.1 To manage and improve Dunain Woods for the benefit of the public and wildlife through the promotion of the principles of sustainable development of Scotland’s natural environment including social and economic development. 4.2 To inspire and educate the public about the biodiversity and protected species of the woodland. To facilitate and encourage the use of Dunain Woods for educational purposes, including raising awareness of the environment, culture and history of the woodland. 4.3 To advance community development by promoting and developing Dunain Woods as a civic amenity of the community to provide workspace and land to encourage skills development, training and employment opportunities. 4.4 To provide and facilitate greater opportunities for recreational activities (both individual or group) which aim to contribute to the physical mental and social health of the local community and other users of Dunain Woods.
