02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our charity is set up to manage and maintain the community hall on the Isle of Raasay for the benefit of local residents and visitors. The hall provides a safe, welcoming and accessible space where people can meet, take part in social, cultural and recreational activities, and access services that support island life. We do this by maintaining the building and its facilities, making the hall available for community events, clubs, meetings, celebrations and learning opportunities, and working with local groups and individuals to encourage participation and reduce isolation. Through the provision of this shared space, the hall helps strengthen community connections, supports wellbeing, and contributes to the social sustainability of Raasay.
