02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The purpose of Girlguiding is to provide a safe, girl-only space where girls can discover their potential, develop skills like leadership and teamwork, and build confidence to make a positive difference in the world. Through a fun and adventurous programme of activities, friendship, and community action, girls learn about themselves, find their voice, and gain the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be. Through various activities, girls learn valuable life skills, including teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and communication, as well as practical skills like camping and creative arts. Girls are encouraged to make a positive difference in their communities and society by speaking out on issues they care about, participating in campaigns, and taking on challenges. This is adapted for Rainbow age (age 4-7 years)
