02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Junction aims to support and improve young people's health and wellbeing in the heart of Leith Edinburgh. We offer a wide range of health-related services, education and information within a friendly non-judgemental space. Our work promotes long term prevention and aims to increase the capacity of the young people to look after themselves. Our services include: • Therapeutic one-to-one support sessions with youth workers, qualified counsellors, or counsellors in training • Specialist one-to-one support for young people impacted by substance use • Drop-in sessions where young people can receive support at specific times during the week, without the need for an appointment • Educational group work on a wide range of health & wellbeing needs using multiple methods, including creative activities • Outreach Services: We reach out to those most in need of the service and provide education via street work, working with schools, and youth organisations.
