02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Charity has been set up to ensure that Uddingston and surrounding areas including the railway station are maintained to a high standard of horticulture, cleanliness and while doing this we take into account how this would effect the environment and the effects of climate change. To encourage people to take a pride in the area where they live and work. Finance for this is obtained by applying for grants, fund raising and donations. Group relies mostly on volunteers to do the work . Group work with local businesses, councils, schools both primary and secondary and uniformed organisations.

The objects of the organisation shall be:- (a) To promote horticulture in and around Uddingston for the benefit of the public by providing or encouraging the provision of displays of flowers, shrubs, trees and landscapes in places visible to the public. and (b) To advance the education of the public concerning the natural environment through the development of environmental prograinrnes.
