02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To help young people in the Highlands of Scotland and beyond without distinction particularly on the grounds of race colour, religious beliefs, sexuality, nationality, ethnic origin, gender, disability, age or responsibility for dependents through leisure time and educational activities, to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society by: 1. Giving young people opportunities for enjoyable and constructive leisure time. 2.Enabling young people to find new Interests and to form effective relationships with other people. and encouraging them to organise and conduct these activities for themselves thus learning to accept and handle responsibility. This is done by offering young people a volunteer mentor for a period of one year and by training young people on our year-long Foundation Apprenticeship programmes.
