02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity is set up to provide sports facilities to residents & non residents, provide village toilet facilities for all to use, provide a usable safe space (village hall) for many different kinds of classes/activities/library facility. Support locals in ideas they may have which will actively improve our community for all people. We also run fundraising yearly fundraising events including a bike race and village fete amongst others.

Constitutional objectives
4 The organisation's purposes are to benefit principally the community of Shieldaig which comprises the postcodes set out in Clause 131.3 (the 'area of benefit' or the 'Community') with the following objects: 4.1 To advance education and public participation in sport, particularly, but not exclusively, amongst the residents in the area of benefit by the promotion of physical recreation, sports and leisure time facilities. 4.2 To promote and/or provide training in skills of all kinds. particularly such skills as will assist and promote the education and advancement of the residents in the area of benefit. 4.3 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended within the Community. 4.4 To advance community development, including but not limited to urban or rural regeneration, for the benefit of residents in the Community. 4.5 To advance environmental protection and/or improvement in the area of benefit, including but not limited to the preservation, sustainable development or conservation of the natural environment, the maintenance, improvement or provision of amenities for the Community and/or preservation of buildings or sites of architectural, historic or other importance to the Community. Providing always that such purposes shall be (1) conducted in a manner consistent with section 7 and 8 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and (2) consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development.
