02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We provide support to survivors of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse and also support to non offending family members. We support survivors aged 12 and above. Our advocacy service provides assistance to people going through the court process. We also provide prevention and awareness raising sessions in primary and secondary schools.

Constitutional objectives

The company's objects are: 2.1 to relieve those who are in need within the local authority area of Argyll and Bute ('the Operating Area'), by reason of their having experienced rape and/or any other form of sexual abuse and/or sexual exploitation. 2.2 to relieve those who are in need, within the Operating Area, by reason of their being family members of or otherwise closely connected with individuals having suffered such abuse and/or exploitation as is described in article 2.1 above. 2.3 to advance education, particularly in relation lo rape and sexual violence, including the effects of such abuse (whether physical, psychological, legal and/or medical). 2.4 to advance the health and wellbeing of those individuals, within the Operating Arca, who have experienced rape and/or any other form of sexual abuse and/or sexual exploitation, including the health and wellbeing of family members and/or others closely connected with individuals who have suffered such abuse. 2.5 lo promote, establish and/or support other similar projects and programmes which further charitable purposes, including, but not limited to, the HUB Cowal which provides assistance to those living with or affected by substance abuse.
