02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are set up to keep the Argyle Square Area of Wick Caithness looking good by carrying out general yearly maintence that is carried out by the Council. This includes keeping the planters looking good. clening the benches and lamp posts. strimming and weeding. Works carried out of the years by the group have been, new lamp posts, new benches, new bins. planters and planting and the relaying of the path through the centre in Tar and flagstone.

Constitutional objectives

(a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Argyle Square Conservation Area and neighbourhood in Wick (the area of benefit) by associating the local authorities, voluntary organizations and inhabitants in a common effort to relieve poverty, advance education and provide facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. (b) To promote the preservation, development and improvement for the public benefit of the character and amenities of the area of benefit.
