02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Charity exists to encourage educational, leisure and creative pursuits for those retired from full time work. It does this principally through specific interest groups, each organised by a volunteer leader, of which there were 29 during the 2024-25 financial year. In addition there is a monthly meeting open to all members at which a guest speaker makes a presentation on a topic of interest, and an annual outing. A monthly newsletter is circulated to all members, and a website and Facebook page provide up to date information on current activities. At 30 September 2025 there were 269 members.
