02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

For the aid and education or assistance of any pupils of the school for their advancement or benefit and generally as the Trustees think fit within these aims. The Trust is committed to assisting with and promoting fund raising initiatives to support future developments proposed by Kelvinside Academy.

Constitutional objectives

(1) For the general advancement of education of pupils at Kelvinside Academy, Glasgow ('the School') including the improvement of facilities where required or, in the event of the School ceasing to exist or its objects ceasing to be those of an establishment for the educational advancement of pupils then to such other establishment for the educational advancement of pupils as the Trustees shall decide. (2) To assist the education of any pupil or former pupil of the School, who is in necessitous circumstances by way of bursary, scholarship, award or otherwise As the Trustees may decide appropriate (the Trustees being the sole judges in this regard) from time to time. Proviso - If the School, at any time, ceases to exist, or if there are any material changes in the administration or objects of the School or if there are any circumstances where the School ceases to operate on the general basis on which it has operated on previously, then, in any of such situations, the Trustees shall apply the capital and income of the Trust Property for such charitable and educational purposes as the Trustees shall, in their sole discretion think fit.
