02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The East Ayrshire Coalfield Environment Initiative (CEI) undertakes projects to restore and improve the environment of the East Ayrshire Coalfield and to promote awareness of the coalfield environment. These have mainly taken the form of restoring degraded peatland, creating pollinator habitats and engaging local residents with river health. In addition to running our own projects we offer support to other organisations who have aligned goals and participate in partnership projects which have a coalfield environment focus.
