02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To provide help, support and protection to children, families and individuals who are in conditions of poverty, vulnerability or distress or who are otherwise in need by reason of their personal, social or economic circumstances. and • To advance education, policy and practice in health and social services through study of conditions that affect children and families and through dissemination of the knowledge gained through that study and the experience of service provision. The charity has the general aim of promoting the social inclusion of families with children marginalised by poverty and discrimination. The charity’s purpose is to improve the lives of children by strengthening families. Our strategic ambitions are: • to increase the numbers of children and families who benefit from the Circle approach • to build collaborative approaches and services, creating effective and lasting partnerships with organisations that share our commitment and values
