02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We run the Axis Centre which is a community owned facility. The centre hosts numerous events and classes throughout the year from exercise to community events such as Christmas fayre. We have a varied programme of events from keep fit to children’s clubs to musical evenings and events - all overseen, or run, by our fully qualified (and employed) staff and appropriately qualified volunteers or providers. We provide a social space for the community spanning all ages, abilities and interests.

Constitutional objectives
To promote the welfare of the inhabitants of the Parish of Newmachar without distinction of political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, social welfare, recreation and leisure time occupation and, more particularly, to further the achievement of these objects and improve the conditions of life for the said inhabitants by the provision of appropriate premises and facilities.
