02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Ayrshire Communities Education and Sport (ACES) is established to advance education, relieve poverty and disadvantage, and promote community development by providing activities, opportunities and support for people within Kilwinning and the wider Ayrshire community. We achieve this through educational, sporting and recreational programmes for children and young people. school holiday activities and food provision. youth training, qualifications and volunteering opportunities. community safety and awareness programmes. and activities that reduce loneliness and isolation among older people. Operating from Woodwynd Community Centre, we provide a safe and welcoming community facility where people of all ages can participate regardless of their financial circumstances. We work with schools, community organisations, volunteers and other partners to identify local needs and develop practical programmes that improve skills, confidence, wellbeing and community participation.
