02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
BASE (Blind Activities Support Events) is a Scottish Registered Charity which was established in 2005 by blind and partially sighted people. Our aim is to empower sight impaired people to engage in activities, address social isolation and enhance wellbeing.
Charitable purposes
- the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended
- the promotion of equality and diversity

Constitutional objectives
To achieve equality for people with a visual impairment within East Fife by promoting support and empowerment and access to recreation and leisure time pursuits as they relate to the above mentioned people in the interests of social welfare to improve their quality of life
