02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Stirling City Heritage Trust promote and encourage the protection and preservation of the historic, architectural and landscape heritage within Stirling Council area for the benefit of the general public now and in the future. The Trust has established itself as the leading heritage organsiation in the city and one which champions the built heritage of Stirling. Since being founded, the Trust has delivered a variety of key projects which have helped to ensure that the historic built environment is protected and enhanced, communities learn about their heritage and the local economy is strengthened. The Trust operations are managed by the Trust Manager, supported by the team of staff. The governance of the organisation is overseen by a Board of voluntary Trustees.

'The objects for which the Trust is established are to promote and encourage, either on its own or in conjunction with others, the protection and preservation of historic, architectural and landscape heritage within the Stirling Council Area as defined in Section 1 of the Local Government etc (Scotland) Act 1994 by any means all for the benefit of the general public now and in the future.'
