02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
17th Dunfermline Brownies advances the development of girls and young women by providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment where they can build confidence, resilience and life skills. Through weekly meetings, badge work, outdoor activities, community projects, creative challenges and leadership opportunities, members develop teamwork, independence, respect and a sense of responsibility. We encourage girls to contribute positively to their local community through volunteering and fundraising while promoting physical, social and emotional wellbeing. We aim to ensure that financial circumstances are not a barrier to participation by keeping costs affordable and offering support where needed. Our activities provide a clear public benefit by helping girls reach their full potential and become active, caring members of society.
