02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity was set up to support those experiencing emotional trauma , physically, mentally and sexually. We support thos ewho have been declined support or have had a poor experience in statutory, our referrals come from GPs. We deliver an emotional support program, developed for children in care, and modified this to suit adult needs, and has worked equally as well. This has been evaluated by community mental health professional, a Dr Karen Conduit Turner, findings highlighted benefits of this type of support. We see complex issues such as sexual assaults, retrospective childhood abuse, incest, attempted murder victims, chronic loss, suicide interventions, self harm etc

Constitutional objectives
The objects of the company are: 5.1.1 Furthering the advancement of health and the prevention or relief of poverty generally, including by preserving, protecting and improving the health of the residents of the lnverclyde Council area and such other area as the company sees fit and in need of the services (the 'Operating Area'), and to assist in the relief of ill health. 5.1.2 To offer a therapeutic emotional support service, on an individual basis, to enable vulnerable clients to self-manage complex life issues and alleviate stress on their family and support services. 5.1.3 Furthering the advancement of citizenship and community development generally, and by promoting the wellbeing of individuals in the communities within the Operating Area and/or to support other schemes and initiatives of a similar nature for the benefit of the community within the Operating Area.
