02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our primary mission is to promote equality and diversity through the study, practice, and performance of choral music. We are set up to: Foster a deeper public appreciation and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community. Provide a safe and positive social space where community members feel supported and included. Maintain a group of confident, professionally supported singers who strive for musical excellence. How we accomplish this: We use our concerts and outreach programs to attract respect and tolerance for the LGBT+ community. We hire professional contractors, specifically a Musical Director, to ensure our members receive high-quality musical training. We foster a flexible and open environment where members are encouraged to have fun, connect, and respect one another’s diverse experiences. Our members demonstrate their dedication by committing to at least 70% of rehearsals, ensuring the choir remains a well-organised and cohesive musical group.
