02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
For the benefit of the people of the UK and elsewhere as a whole and the local community in particular: a) to receive and invest financial contributions from the operator/s of Glens of Foudland windfarm and b) to provide from such contributions benefits for the welfare of residents and visitors to the environment around the windfarm, including the provision of and management and maintenance of social, recreational, health, educational, cultural and environmental facilities. The Trustees meet regularly to consider grant applications from the community. The Trustees all live within different areas within the main area of benefit of the fund which brings varied expertise along with expert local knowledge.

Constitutional objectives
3.1 The object for which the Company has been established is to advance the development of the community and in particular to promote rural regeneration of the area around the wind farm at Foudland ('Windfarm') by providing, from contributions received from third parties including Glens of Foudland Wind Farm Limited ('Windco'), benefits for the welfare of residents and visitors to that area. These benefits will include the provision of or procuring the provision of and management and maintenance of social, recreational, health, educational, cultural and environmental facilities.
