02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To assist those in need, help with education, health needs and the preservation of the heritage of the people living across the Himalaya region. It does this by making grants to individuals and institutions.

Constitutional objectives

4.1 The relief of poverty and distress of those in necessitous circumstances by the provision of money, food, clothing and other essential support so that their conditions of life may be improved. 4.2 The advancement of education and in particular but not exclusively, the provision of educational facil ities and support for teachers and students. 4.3 The advancement of health and in particular but not exclusively, the provision of healthcare facilities and support for doctors, healthcare workers and patients. 4.4 The advancement of heritage, trad ition and culture and in particular, the support of Buddhist monasteries. 4.5 The protection and improvement of the environment.
