02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We promote the well being of the senior citizens of the Galson to Ballantrushal area of the island of Lewis by holding monthly meetings with speakers or activities. We also have day trips on the island and a yearly mainland trip

Constitutional objectives

To promote the well being of the senior citizens of the Galson to Ballantrushal area of the island of Lewis and it's environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved. providing accommodation and facilities for regular social gatherings of senior citizens in the said area to enable them to mix with their peers, alleviate loneliness and enable them to improve their quality of life. providing refreshments or meals as appropriate at the above gatherings. promoting activities and arranging excursions to enhance the senior citizens' quality of life. and promoting contact with and between senior citizens in the said area in any appropriate way.
