02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Haldane Youth Services is a community-based charity supporting children and young people aged 4 - 18 in the Mill of Haldane and surrounding areas, an area identified as being among the most deprived areas in Scotland, sitting in the top 10%. Ran by a Voluntary Board of Trustees made up of local community members. Our aim is to make a positive difference by providing social, recreational, and educational opportunities that build confidence, raise aspirations, and promote healthy lifestyles. We deliver after-school and holiday activities, Breakfast and Lunch clubs, youth clubs, and a variety of programs including arts, culture, sports, outdoor education, and healthy living. We also organize trips and work in partnership with local schools. Through these activities, we encourage young people to have a voice in their community, develop self-esteem, and engage positively with others.
