02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Sports Driving provides pony carriage driving and riding year-round, for disabled people of all ages. Our objectives are for participants to improve confidence and self-esteem, experience a sense of achievement, gain benefits to their physical and mental health and enjoy an exciting, challenging sport that is fun. We use the operating name “Sports Driving Unlimited” (SDU) to indicate our approach that anyone with a disability can take part and benefit from the sport of pony carriage driving. We have specially designed carriages that carry a wheelchair, athletic ponies with excellent temperaments and tuition provided by profession coaches.

The provision of facilities for equestrian activities for children and young people in need and people with a disability or health problems as a basis for educational and learning purposes. The encouragement and assistance of research into the effect of equestrian activities for the aforesaid purposes.
