What the charity exists to do

KCFC was set up to manage Kilfinan Community Forest for the benefit of the entire community. It's many aims include sustainable forestry management, provision of leisure and educational facilities, affordable workspaces to encourage local enterprise, woodland crofts and self-build house plots, forest products such as firewood for members of the community in fuel poverty and indoor and outdoor growing spaces for small-scale food production leased to a local group. Whilst larger projects are contracted out to local businesses, the vast majority are carried out by local volunteers.
