02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The chair and other senior trustees of Stromness Shopping Week Association are responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the charity on behalf of the community. They identify areas where the funds raised can be used to further the charitable work of the organisation. The committee organise events and give up their time during the week itself also.

The object of The Association shall be to promote the wellbeing of the inhabitants of Stromness in a common effort and to provide entertainment and recreation for those inhabitants and for visitors to the town through the organisation of the Stromness Shopping Week festival and associated activities.
