02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Charity is set up to promote marine conservation and support recreational sea angling in Scotland. It works alongside the Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers, the sport's governing body, in any conservation related issues. It also sits on the committees of The Clyde Marine Planning Partnership (CMPP) and also The Clyde 2020 project, both dealing with marine issues within the River Clyde estuary. It also continues to gather recapture data on shark species tagged through its Scottish Shark Tagging Programme (SSTP). This data, compiled over many years, was instrumental in the protection of numerous sharks in Scottish waters and indeed throughout European waters.
