02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Feniks is a grass-roots charitable organisation founded in 2007 to support Central and Eastern European communities in Edinburgh and across Scotland, with a particular focus on Polish and Ukrainian residents. Created in response to the absence of culturally attuned services, Feniks works to tackle health inequalities, foster meaningful integration and uphold the wellbeing and human rights of CEE communities. We offer psychological support, counselling and therapeutic groups in people’s own languages. community activities that build connection and reduce loneliness. link working to help individuals navigate complex systems. and personal-development and outreach initiatives that strengthen resilience. Feniks also leads research, advocacy and policy work to shine a light on inequalities and influence lasting systemic change.

Constitutional objectives
The Trusts' objects are to advance the education, relieve the poverty, decreasing and coping with social and psychological pathologies and otherwise promote the welfare of those in the community are disadvantaged through circumstances, socially excluded on the grounds of their ethnic and cultural difference, relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
