02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our Brownie unit is set up to provide girls aged 7–10 with a safe, friendly and inclusive environment where they can have fun, make friends, learn new skills and build confidence. We meet regularly and provide a varied programme of activities, including games, crafts, cooking, outdoor activities, challenges, teamwork and working towards badges and awards. We encourage Brownies to try new things, develop independence and learn about themselves and the world around them. We also take part in events, trips and activities within our local community and Girlguiding. Our sessions are led by trained volunteers who support the girls and ensure activities are appropriate, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.
