02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The objectives, which are detailed in our constitution, are to promote the learning and playing of pipes and drums in a marching band context, particularly amongst the youth of the community. However, in line with current 'life-long learning' initiatives, people of all ages are welcome to join the association to learn to play pipes or drums.

Constitutional objectives
The aims of the Association shall be the fostering of pipe band music in West Linton and District through the support and training of a band up to competition standard. The band shall be available for performance at engagements locally and beyond and shall be entered into competitions as considered appropriate.
