02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Community Energy Scotland is Scotland’s only national charity dedicated to supporting communities across Scotland to develop their own decarbonisation & renewable energy projects. We aim to advance community development and help strengthen environmental protection within Scotland. By providing advice and/or financial support we assist in preventing and/or relieving poverty within Scotland.

(1) To advance community development within the 'Operating Area and to advance environmental protection within the Operating Area, and in particular (but without limiting the generality of that aim) through:- (2) To prevent and/or relieve poverty within the Operating Area, and in particular by providing advice and/or financial support to assist in resolving problems of fuel poverty through improved approaches to energy conservation and use.
