02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity is set up to support the delivery of the Girlguiding Rainbows programme for girls aged 4–7 in our local community. We aim to help girls develop confidence, kindness and resilience, while having fun, making friends and trying new activities in a safe and inclusive environment. We do this by running regular Rainbows unit meetings led by trained volunteers, following the Girlguiding programme. Activities include games, crafts, storytelling, outdoor play and simple challenges that encourage teamwork, creativity and learning through play. We also take part in local community events and celebrations, helping girls understand the world around them and their place within it. Funds raised are used to cover meeting costs, materials, badges, subscriptions and occasional outings, ensuring that Rainbows is accessible and affordable for all families.
