02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The purpose of Dunoon Community Radio is to broadcast radio programmes that will appeal not only to local listeners by presenting a wide range of programmes that will entertain and be informative of local matters. It gives opportunities to members of the community regardless of their status and at no financial cost to be involved in all aspects of the workings of the radio including partnership with other local community initiatives and fundraising activities. - To encourage and advance active citizenship in all sections of the community through the making and presenting of radio programmes. to advance community cohesion and development across all aspects of local activity. to advance the inclusion of minority groups in community activity and to include such groups in becoming better recognised in the rural area. to encourage and promote active volunteering across all generations of the population.-
