What the charity exists to do

The Trusts purpose is within the Community of Falkland by advancing the education of pupils. the conservation and preservation of the natural and built heritage. the provision of facilities for recreation. to promote the benefits of travel and to furtherance of charitable purposes among similar charitable projects and programmes. We do this by soliciting for applications from schools and Falkland trusts via the local social media sites and newsletter.

Constitutional objectives

The Charitable Purposes are to advance the education of pupils at schools within the Community of Falkland by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at such schools. to advance the arts, heritage, culture and science in or with reference to the Community of Falkland and particularly the conservation and preservation of the natural and built heritage of the Community of Falkland. to promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Community of Falkland the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants. to relieve unemployment for the benefit of the public in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment, and to provide premises to any charity whose objects include any of those in this deed. to encourage and promote among the inhabitants of the Community of Falkland, particularly the young or the disadvantaged, a desire and ability to travel so as to learn the ways and cultures of other peoples, and to foster exchange visits with other lands, in such a way as may be thought fit including by the provision of hostel or other accommodation, and by the award of travel grants or bursaries. to preserve the memory of those who fell in the Great War of 1914-1918. and to promote, establish and/or support other similar charitable projects and programmes which are in furtherance of charitable purposes and which are of benefit to the community
